So, I haven’t written anything on here in about a year. If you could see my “recent drafts” list, then you would know I’m fibbing a bit. I have started several posts, but have not completed any. They are just sitting there as little post seedlings, waiting to be watered by some burst of inspiration.
Since I last wrote, a lot has changed. To start with the biggest, I’m married! Yeah, that happened. I met my amazing man almost 5 years ago, but we didn’t start dating until 11 months ago. Then we got married 6 months after that. What’s the point of waiting, right?
The next major thing that has happened is that I quit apartment managing after 9 long years. That has to be one of the more freeing sensations I have had in quite awhile. Managing paid my rent, that’s for sure, but I ended up being tied to that 7 unit, college student filled, beat up 1970s style building. And don’t even get me started on how “unique” the owner was…
Finally, I have a new job. For the first time in my life, I am working a 40 hour work week, all at one job. For years I had several part-time jobs, all adding up to at least 40 hours a week (not including the 24/7 apartment managing gig). I work for a semi-small company where I get to work in accounting and play with numbers. I have fellow employees to talk to and full health benefits. It’s nice.
Well, that’s my update. I have a feeling inspiration will strike and more fully grown posts will be coming soon.
